Fasting
Have you ever fasted for no reason?
We always hear people say that we must always fast with a reason. Is that really true?
Today I fasted. Someone asked me why. Actually a few people asked me the same thing. I realised that I couldn't really answer them! Cos the fact is that I really don't really know why I decided to fast.
If I say I fast for the cg, ermm... not quite true. I didn't really fast because I wanna breakthrough in my spiritual life. I didn't fast for friends too. So what's the reason behind my fasting?
Well, the truth is that I felt good during fasting and that I decided to fast and also that I made a point to keep my word to fast. Is that a good enough explanation?
During service today, I just felt the love of God so tangible in the whole auditorium. It wasn't just the love of God, but the power and the presence of God. There and then, I know the reason being the fasting.
I fasted because I love Him. Can I say then that I actually fasted for God?
I'm really not too sure if I'm theologically correct. But that's what I felt. It is something like "I don't have to fast for anything. The only reason why I fast will be because I love God".
True?
I hope this isn't too hard for you, my dear reader, to understand. Its kind of deep in the spirit and I'm also trying to figure it out. But seriously, I fasted for NO PARTICULAR REASON. I just wanted to fast.
:D
